The Foreign Office has updated its advice for Brits travelling to the US following a weekend of protests in Los Angeles.
It is warning visitors to monitor local media and follow the advice of local authorities.
Visitors are also being urged to plan their trips in advance to avoid disruption, and to stay away from crowds and demonstrations.
Demonstrations broke out after federal agents carried out raids across Los Angeles in a quest to flush out illegal immigrants over the weekend.
Two home stores and a clothing wholesaler were among the locations targeted, according to Sky News, with workers suspected of being illegal immigrants detained.
Some 118 people were arrested, according to Government departments.
When protestors gathered to prevent the arrests, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of at least 2,000 National Guards to LA, which California Governor Gavin Newsom described as ‘purposefully inflammatory’.
On Sunday troops carrying guns and riot shields faced off with protesters and uniformed officers fired smoke-filled canisters into the streets.
Los Angeles Police Department also fired rounds of crowd-control munitions to disperse the protesters.
Last week, President Trump signed an order banning the citizens of 12 countries from travelling to the US and restricting entry for citizens of a further seven.
