Foreign Office issues separate updates for Poland and Qatar

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has issued updates for Poland and Qatar.

Poland closed its airspace in the early hours of this morning after it was ‘violated by drone-type objects’ during an attack by Russia on Ukraine on Tuesday evening. Airspace and airports, including Warsaw Chopin, Warsaw Modlin, Rzeszów and Lublin, have since reopened.

The FCDO said: “Poland’s airports are open but there may be travel disruption. Follow official Polish government announcements and updates from airlines.”

Flightradar says flights departing Warsaw Chopin are currently operating with an average delay of 52 minutes, although many flights have left on time.

On Tuesday (9 September), the FCDO updated its advice for Qatar after Israeli forces targeted Hamas officials in Doha.

The FCDO said: “On 9 September, explosions occurred in the Lusail area in Doha. The FCDO is in contact with the local authorities. Follow the advice of the local authorities.”

The FCDO has also updated its advice for Brits travelling to France during two separate days of action on 10 and 18 September.
