Finnair has cancelled 140 flights tomorrow (2 May) because of planned strike action at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
More than 600 workers will take part in industrial action on Friday, which will include walkouts by ground handling, airline catering, repair and maintenance employees.
Workers will strike in different shifts throughout Friday, with the airline cancelling 140 flights.
Six departures from Helsinki Airport to Heathrow have been cancelled on Friday. Additionally, two services to Manchester and another Edinburgh-bound flight have also been cancelled by the airline.
Finnair is contacting customers affected by the disruption and will allow passengers to change flights to non-strike days. Passengers can also cancel their reservation and apply for a refund for the unused ticket.
Finnair Chief Operating Officer Jaakko Schildt apologised for the cancellations, while aiming to ensure affected customers have been offered a suitable new routing.
A further 300 workers who handle passengers, ground handling and cargo are set to walkout on Monday 5 May.
