The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice to warn that ‘a number’ of explosions have been reported in Lima, the capital of Peru.
It says the explosions were in the Miraflores and Lince areas of the city.
“If you are in these areas you should follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local media,” it said.
“If you are in Peru and need urgent assistance call +51 1 617 3000.”
