Adventure operator Explore has seen a surge in solo travellers joining its small group trips, with singletons now accounting for 60% of its bookings.
Director of Sales Ben Ittensohn said this was a 27% increase on 2019 – and many are booking through its agent partners.
Speaking as Explore launches its Go Solo and SAVE sale today, Ben added: “We wanted to launch a sale that was really attractive in the current environment to help our agent partners capture this demand.”
The sale offers free single supplements on hundreds of 2022 departures and all others are half price, creating savings of up to £650 per person.
The sale runs till 1 March for departures until the end of the year.
Ben said Europe remains its most popular destination for solo travellers, with active trips seeing the biggest increase in bookings. Solo bookings on walking and cycling holidays in Europe are up 113% on pre-pandemic levels, he added.
