Eurostar will launch direct services between London and Antwerp on 14 December, removing the need for passengers to change trains in Brussels when travelling to the Belgian city.
Four of the 10 daily London-Brussels services will continue onwards to Antwerp-Centraal, offering a journey time of 2 hours and 41 minutes.
Tickets are already on sale, with one-way fares available from £51.
The direct London to Antwerp departures will leave St Pancras at 06:16, arriving in Antwerp at 09:57; 08:16, arriving at 11:57; 11:04, arriving at 14:57; and 18:04, arriving at 21:57.
Eurostar will not initially offer direct return journeys from Antwerp to London as the Belgian station does not have UK border control facilities, meaning passengers travelling back to the UK will still need to change in Brussels and complete immigration and security checks before boarding their onward train.
The return journey is expected to take around 3 hours and 30 minutes, adding around 50 minutes.
Eurostar told the travel website Head for Points: “Customers travelling from Antwerp to London can book a combined SNCB and Eurostar ticket on eurostar.com, connecting via Brussels-Midi where UK border and security checks take place.
“There are currently no plans to introduce direct services from Antwerp to London, as this would require dedicated UK border and customs facilities at Antwerp-Centraal.”
