Elite Travel Group is offering Business Development Managers ‘boltholes’ to work in its shops across the country.
The consortium has said it can provide visiting BDMs with desk space, wi-fi, and refreshments during the working day.
Participating agencies include Elite Travel Group in Coleshill, Travel Club Elite in Birmingham city centre, Villair in Ashby de la Zouche, Kinver Travel and Holbeache Travel in Stourbridge, Ross and Brown in Sutton Coldfield, Direct Travel in Sheffield, Travel With Kitts in Potters Bar, Peakes Travel Elite in Shrewsbury and Nettours in Maidenhead.
Elite Travel Group said the initiative was inspired by Westoe Travel’s Graeme Brett, who set up the Desks for Reps scheme during COVID and relaunched it in January 2025.
It added that the scheme shows its ongoing commitment to ‘collaboration, wellbeing, and best practice’ across its membership.
Elite Travel Group BDM Adam Courtney, who has also worked for tour operators as a BDM, said: “This is a simple but meaningful way for our members to support visiting BDMs.
“I know from experience how important a friendly reception and somewhere to take a breather can be. By opening up desk space where available, we can improve working conditions for BDMs while creating more opportunities for connection, engagement and to build strong working relationships with our operators – a genuine win-win for all involved.”
