EDreams says Brits are booking earlier than Europeans as it reports record profits

EDreams ODIGEO says UK consumers are booking holidays earlier than any other European market, as it reports record profits.

Analysis of the company’s summer booking data revealed that the UK is leading the charge, with 86% of British travellers booking early compared to 61% in Italy, the lowest among the countries analysed. However, EDreams didn’t specify the lead times for either market.

“The data confirms that UK travellers are treating holidays as a non-negotiable part of life, even in the face of inflation and cost-of-living concerns,” it said.

“The uptick in long-lead bookings also reflects growing consumer confidence in the travel sector, fuelled by new industry initiatives around flexible bookings and cancellation protection.

“Together, these factors are encouraging more travellers to plan ahead, safe in the knowledge that they can adjust plans if needed.”

The booking data was revealed as the Spanish business reported its full-year results to March 2025. It made cash pre-tax earnings of €180m, up 49%, after seeing revenue rise 6% to €718m, surpassing the €700m threshold for the first time. Marginal profit was up year-on-year, reaching €281.6m. Net income grew by 124% to €51.2 million on an adjusted basis, from €22.9 million last year.

CEO Dana Dunne said: “This extraordinary year culminates a 3.5-year journey where eDO turned ambitious 2025 vision into a powerful reality.

“We have delivered on every commitment, achieving this despite persistent global headwinds that saw most industry peers revise their outlooks downwards.”
