EasyJet reveals unusual destinations proving popular for May half term

EasyJet is seeing a spike in popularity for city breaks to Tbilisi in Georgia and Ljubljana in Slovenia for May half term.

While Spain remains the most popular destination, the airline said its latest data shows Brits are ‘seeking to explore places beyond classic choices’.

Seville in Spain is up 25% year on year, while the traditional favourites of Milan, Nice, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam are also seeing strong demand, it said.

The Greek island of Rhodes has seen a bookings spike of 19% compared to May 2025, while the airline said the rest of Greece is also proving more popular than last year.

Greece recently announced plans to fast-track Brits through border checks to avoid long queues caused by the introduction in April of the new EU-wide Entry/Exit System (EES).

EasyJet said there has also been an increase in demand for Malta and Tunisia.

The airline and its in-house tour operator easyJet holidays have pledged no price supplements, and easyJet has confirmed that it intends to operate a full schedule this summer, despite the ongoing war in the Middle East and a potential threat to fuel supplies.

EasyJet UK Country Manager Kevin Doyle said: “We are operating as normal, not making cancellations and our Booking with Confidence Promise guarantees that the cost of flights and package holidays will stay fixed after booking and we will not add fuel surcharges, protecting customers from increased fuel cost.”
