Doncaster Council is seeking a Site Management Officer for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which it is planning to reopen next spring.
Earlier this year, the council appointed Munich Airport International (MAI) as its operating partner for the airport, which was shut down by its previous owner Peel in December 2022.
A job advert posted on Doncaster Council’s website says :”We are seeking an experienced Site Management Officer to join our Facilities Team at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. You will be part of a small team with responsibility for the entire airport site while we work towards the reopening of DSA.”
Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband is backing the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield, despite opposing plans for Heathrow’s expansion. Speaking to the Yorkshire Post he said: “She (Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones) will get the airport reopened, I’m absolutely convinced about that.
“I think there’s a real will locally in the region to make it happen. I think the work that Doncaster Council has done over the past couple of years has been really positive, and I know Ros is absolutely going to deliver it.”
