Diana Ross has pulled out as godmother of Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Star of the Seas, a week before the naming ceremony.
The singer was announced as the ship’s godmother in June when she said she was ‘truly honoured to join the Royal Caribbean family’.
She was set to appear at its naming ceremony in the ship’s AquaTheater next week on 20 August.
A representative for the singer said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Diana Ross will be unable to appear.”
A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said: “We are disappointed that Diana Ross is unable to join us to be godmother of Star of the Seas.
“We look forward to announcing our new godmother soon.”
