Airlines in Vietnam were forced to cancel flights on Monday as Typhoon Kajiki struck the country’s north central coast.
At least three people were killed as the storm uprooted trees, knocked out power lines, and caused widespread flooding in the capital Hanoi.
Two airports, one in Thanh Hoa and one in Quang Binh province were closed, forcing Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet to ground dozens of flights. Boats were ordered not to leave their ports.
After moving through Vietnam, Kajiki it is expected to move inland across Laos and northern Thailand.
