Simply Cuba has thanked travel agents for their ‘amazing support’ following a change in Foreign Office (FCDO) advice on travel to the Caribbean island.
On Wednesday evening, the FCDO advised against all but essential trips to Cuba after the country said it would be unable to provide aviation fuel for a month.
Following the FCDO announcement, Simply Cuba Trade Sales Manager Alan Meadows said the operator had been ‘inundated’ with calls.
In a social media post, he added: “I can honestly say the support that has been shown by you, our travel agent partners, has been simply amazing and very much appreciated by everyone at Simply Cuba.
“For those who have sent messages, we have read every single one, and at a time when we needed a lift, it has raised our spirits.
“For those who have worked with us to reprotect your clients’ holidays with our sister brand Exotic Escapes, many thanks for being so supportive in booking alternative travel arrangements.
“Most weeks, agents post a special thanks on social media to an operator that has gone out of its way to help, but on this occasion, we, the operator, want to extend our sincere thanks for all your support and lovely messages.”
