Cruise line applies no-show fees for specialty dining restaurants

Royal Caribbean has started charging passengers who fail to show up for their reservation at its onboard specialty restaurants.

Any passengers who cancel less than 24 hours before their reservation – or fail to turn up – will be charged the fee.

In a statement, Royal Caribbean said: “A 24-hour cancellation period will be enforced for all specialty dining reservations and culinary experiences, excluding Star Class and Dining Package reservations.”

Royal Caribbean added: “This change allows us to ensure guests have a chance to enjoy popular dining experiences during their vacation, especially those with limited capacity.”

The late cancellation or no-show fee starts at $25 per person, rising to $50 per person at the Empire Supper Club, Lincoln Supper Club (pictured), Omakase, Royal Railway, Izumi Hibachi/Teppanyaki and Chef’s Table. For the Celebration Table, the no-show fee is half the cost of the experience.
