Cruise agent to hire more staff to fuel growth

Panache Cruises plans to hire 21 additional staff across the UK and the US as it aims to grow its turnover by 50% next year.

The cruise retailer, launched in 2020 by CEO James Cole, says it has enjoyed a ‘record-breaking’ 12-months, which included opening an office in Orlando, Florida in June.

Its biggest ever trading month was November, when it generated over £3 million of sales.

It expects to increase its turnover from more than £25m this year (£20m of which came from the UK) to £100m by 2027/28, and it is aiming to be the world’s largest seller of luxury and ultra luxury cruises by 2030.

It is reinvesting £500,000 of the profits generated over the past three years into the business to acquire more office space at its Strawberry Fields Digital Hub in Chorley, Lancashire, larger premises in the US, and new-to-brand marketing strategies, as well as more staff.

It currently employs a team of 58 in the UK and another eight in the US and plans to increase this to 73 and 16 respectively by the end of 2025.

James said: “We’re aiming to hit turnover of £35m-£40m in 2025 and this £500k investment will help us accelerate our growth further.

“We’re committed to growth, but we’ll do it the right way by putting our colleagues first. We plan to double the size of the US team but a lot of our growth in the US is powered by people based out of Chorley. For example, all of our marketing and cruise line liaison is done from Chorley.”

Earlier this year the company appointed Alex Langton as Head of Sales and Operations and Rhianna Latham as the company’s first Head of People and Culture.
