Contingency plans revealed as Naples Airport prepares to shut for a month

Naples Airport will be closed for the entire month of November to undergo a €30 million renovation of its runways and taxiways.

Airlines operating direct flights from the UK to the Italian hub include easyJet, Ryanair, British Airways, TUI and Jet2.

The airport has confirmed some flights will be transferred to Salerno Airport, which is around an hour’s drive to Naples.

To help passengers connect between the two, special bus services will run throughout November between Naples Piazza Garibaldi and Salerno Airport, while services to Salerno railway station have been stepped up. Existing bus routes to Potenza, Eboli, Battipaglia and the Amalfi Coast will continue to operate.

A trial shared taxi service with a fixed fare has also been introduced from Salerno Airport to both Naples and Salerno central train stations.
