Chinese travel distribution firm hails 100% growth in UK

Shenzhen-based DidaTravel says it saw record sales in the UK in 2024, more than doubling its volume of business year-on-year.

The travel distribution company sells through medium to large tour operators, travel agency groups and online travel agents around the world, including the UK.

It says its projected total transactional value for 2024 is $2 billion, a 138% increase over 2023, but it has not given specific figures for the UK market.

Last year, it sold 13 million room nights to six million travellers around the world, a 164% and 113% increase respectively.

Europe, including the UK, accounts for almost a quarter of Dida’s total revenue. It says its 75,000 directly contracted hotels are available on ‘the majority’ of the UK’s largest travel tech platforms.

“After a very strong start to 2025, the company has a clear strategy to maintain the current growth trajectory in the UK market with a target to increase sales by 100% again this year,” it said.

The top five destinations booked through Dida’s platform in 2024 by British travellers were Dubai, New York, Phuket, Paris and Tokyo.

UK Sales Director Paul Riches said: “We’ve invested significantly more resources in technology, product and customer care to support the UK trade, particularly over the last 18 months, and we are now reaping the benefits”.

“Our highly competitive hotel portfolio, featuring over one million properties globally with more than 75,000 direct contracts, are now available on the main travel tech platforms, as well as via our leading API, so most UK agents can fully benefit from Dida’s reach, which was not necessarily the case even 12 months ago.

“This is contributing significantly to our strong results in the UK market.”
