Celebrity River Cruises has revealed details of its excursion programme when it launches its first sailings in 2027.
Guests will be able to choose from two types of guided tours or explore independently using interactive maps, audio guides and videos.
The guided tour options will be divided into a Storyteller Series, where locals take guests through their neighbourhoods, and the Skillmaster Series, which includes activities such as cooking and painting classes.
Those who want to take self-guided tours, will have access to a Keys to the City digital platform.
The new river cruise line will also have a Celebrity Takeover Series offering a ‘headline moment’ on every sailing. These one-off events will see Celebrity transform famous landmarks or atmospheric European plazas into private experiences exclusively for its river guests.
The excursions will be available on all Celebrity River Cruises itineraries in 2027 and 2028, as well as during new pre- and post-cruise stays in Prague and Budapest from 2027 and Amsterdam from 2028.
Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge said: “We’ve built a destination programme that connects guests to Europe more personally than anything the river cruise industry has offered before. Celebrity River Cruises guests will return home with stories no one else can tell.”
Celebrity’s first river ships will launch on the Danube and Rhine in 2027. Initially, the cruise company said it would operate 10 ships in its river fleet, but earlier this year announced it was doubling its fleet to 20, in response to demand.
Bookings for pre- and post-cruise stays for 2027 and 2028 are due to open this summer, while the wider destination experiences will become available to book in 2027. Celebrity River Cruises sailings are already on sale.
