The UK Foreign Office has updated its advice to British travellers to Canada after wildfires caused the Northwest Territories to declare a state of emergency.
Wildfires have destroyed on remote community, according to Reuters, and are also posting a risk to territorial capital Yellowknife.
The FCDO said: “There are currently several wildfires across the Northwest Territories, due to which the territory has declared a territory-wide state of emergency.
“Evacuation orders have been issued in certain areas, including in Yellowknife, the Territory’s capital. Wildfires are highly dangerous and unpredictable.
“The situation can change quickly.”
