A British woman has died in an avalanche while hiking in the French Alps.
The 45-year-old was hiking in the Chamonix valley in Mont Blanc on Saturday afternoon with her partner and a guide.
An investigation is under way.
The Foreign Office confirmed it was assisting the family of a British woman who died in France.
Local media reports a second avalanche was triggered on Sunday in the Brevent ski area.
