Bournemouth Airport strikes called off

Workers have called off a series of strikes at Bournemouth Airport that were due to start this week.

Around 80 Unite members including baggage handlers, check-in staff and flight dispatchers were set to walk out on Tuesday 30 September, then 1, 16 and 17 October in a dispute over pay.

They’ve now called off the strikes and are due to be balloted on a new offer.

Unite regional officer Janet Wall said: “Strike action would have caused a lot of disruption to flights – but this has now been called off to allow members to have the opportunity to vote on whether to accept the new deal.”
