Bournemouth Airport has put contingency plans in place to minimise any impact from planned strike action by Unite members on 30 September and 1 October.
Around 80 Unite members had been due to walk out in a dispute over pay earlier this month, but action was suspended to allow workers to be balloted on whether to accept a new deal, which has since been rejected.
Union members, who work in different areas of the airport including baggage handling, check-in, flight dispatching and plane fuelling, will strike on four days starting from the end of September.
Unite had warned the walk-out would cause ‘major disruption’, but Bournemouth Airport expects to ‘operate a full schedule as normal’ on 30 September and 1 October. It has told passengers to check in as usual.
The airport is planning similar contingency measures for proposed strike action due to take place on 16 and 17 October.
