Birmingham Airport promises Homeworker Hub following launch of trade initiative

Birmingham Airport has announced plans to launch a Homeworker Hub next year to offer agents more learning and networking opportunities.

It comes after the September roll out of its BHX Travel Trade Hub, which features training modules, destination inspiration, competitions, industry events and downloadable marketing materials.

The free-to-access platform also gives travel professionals a space to connect with the airport and its partners and keep up to date with route developments.

Head of Airline Relations Andrew Pelham said: “Since joining Birmingham Airport in March this year, one of my main priorities has been strengthening our relationships with the travel trade and finding new ways to support travel professionals who do so much to promote our airport and airline partners.

“I wanted to create something genuinely useful for our travel trade community, bringing everything agents need from Birmingham Airport together in one place. The BHX Travel Trade Hub makes it easier for agents to stay connected, discover our routes, complete training, access exclusive offers, and join us at events.

The hub sits alongside the airport’s face-to-face activity, with more than 3,000 agents welcomed to events and training sessions so far this year.

“In 2027, we’ll be building on this with the launch of our Homeworker Hub, creating even more opportunities for learning, networking, and support,” Andrew added: “Our travel trade partners play a vital role in the success of Birmingham Airport, and we’re committed to providing the tools, information, and opportunities they need to succeed, while ensuring they always feel supported and connected.

“We’ve already had a fantastic response to the BHX Travel Trade Hub, and this is just the beginning. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop the platform alongside our trade community and expanding the ways we support agents throughout 2027 and beyond.”

Since launching in September, the BHX Travel Trade Hub has already welcomed over 1,700 verified travel professionals, he said.
