Best Workplaces in Travel to launch HR networking group

The organisers of Best Workplaces in Travel have launched a membership community for people who work in HR.

The community, called HR in Travel, will officially launch next week and has been set up so people working in the sector can share ideas and get inspiration and support.

Membership is open to HR professionals in travel businesses of all sizes. Members will have access to a comprehensive directory so they can connect and collaborate with others, including legal experts. They can also join events that will run throughout the year.

The founding lineup includes Best Workplaces in Travel founder Gail Kenny, who said: “We are super excited to launch HR in Travel, an initiative that will bring together a HR community from across the travel industry. Our community is designed to provide a platform for HR and people leaders to connect, share knowledge, and grow together. We believe that by doing so, we can elevate the role of HR in the travel industry and contribute to the sector’s continued growth and success.”

Other founding members include Hotelplan UK HR and People Director Nicky Lyle, Travel Counsellors Chief People Officer Victoria Wilson, ITT Future You co-founder Danny Waine and GTTP UK Director Claire Steiner.

The first 100 people to sign up can join for £79 and after that, the joining fee will be £99. There is also a free membership option, which provides e-news updates and access to articles, but not the networking opportunities.

The first event takes place on 4 September at Grant Thornton in London and more events are planned, including a conference in February.

More details will be announced on Monday at the Best Workplaces in Travel awards. People can sign up at www.hrintravel.com
