Lynsey Jones has been hired by Ambassador Cruise Line following her redundancy from Balkan Holidays, where she was Head of Sales and Brand.
She will join on Monday 2 June, working with the Ambassador trade team.
Lynsey, who is expecting a baby, will support the cruise line’s launch of its Caribbean fly-cruise programme over the next four months, reporting to Interim Head of Trade Karen Cameron.
Karen said: “We are always on the lookout for talented individuals who can bring their expertise to our business. Lynsey’s considerable knowledge of the travel sector, coupled with her industry experience, make her a perfect fit for the Trade Team.”
Lynsey worked for Balkan Holidays for more than six years, having started as Regional Sales Manager before being promoted last November. She has previously worked for TUI, Neilson and Skiworld.
In a post on LinkedIn, Lynsey wrote: “Today is my last day at Balkan Holidays after 6+ amazing years.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve had time to reflect and it really is all about the people. From agents and suppliers to airport teams and incredible colleagues, this industry is packed with brilliant humans. I’m not done with travel just yet.”
She said she had been ‘blown away by the support’ she received after sharing news of her redundancy on the social media site.
“I’m beyond grateful to Karen Cameron for the opportunity to join Ambassador Cruise Line. Starting Monday and I couldn’t be more excited,” Lynsey added.
Balkan Holidays stopped selling in the UK in April.
