BA revamps loyalty programme

British Airways has changed the way customers earn points in its revamped loyalty programme.

From 1 April 2025, the British Airways Executive Club will be renamed British Airways Club and passengers will earn Tier Points based on fare price, rather than distance flown and fare class.

One Tier Point will be paid for every £1 spent with BA. Points can also be earned through booking BA Holidays packages, adding an extra bag or pre-paying for a preferred seat.

Tier thresholds have also been updated.

BA said: “The world has changed since we first launched our loyalty programme over 40 years ago and so have the people who travel it.

“As your needs and reasons for travelling have continued to evolve, we’re changing the way we support and recognise your loyalty.

“You’ll still earn Tier Points on every eligible flights. Only now, your Tier Points will be based on the price of your flight, rather than the distance you fly. We believe it’s a simpler way to reward your loyalty.”

BA American Express Premium Plus Cardmembers will be able to earn up to 2,500 Tier Points by spending on their card.
