BA confirms launch of new US route

British Airways will launch flights from London Heathrow to St Louis in Missouri next year, providing the only direct link between the UK and the US city.

The service will start on 19 April 2026, with four flights a week throughout the summer.

The launch of the route will coincide with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the highway between Chicago and Los Angeles.

British Airways Chief Planning and Strategy Officer Neil Chernoff said: “St. Louis is a fantastic addition to our US network – it’s a destination in itself as a city with a rich history and a vibrant cultural scene, as well as a gateway to exciting destinations beyond this.

“As the only direct route from the UK, this service will open up exciting new opportunities for our customers and further strengthen ties between the UK and the US Midwest.”

Earlier this week, British Airways announced it was increasing flights between Heathrow and the Middle East, including the resumption of a daily service to Abu Dhabi.
