BA cancels more Middle East flights

British Airways has cancelled flights to five Middle East destinations until the end of this month and has closed sales to new customers on the routes until 15 April.

The affected flights are from Heathrow to Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv. Heathrow to Abu Dhabi services have also been cancelled until 28 March, but as the route is seasonal, it will not restart until October 2026. Previously, BA had suspended flights on these routes until mid-March.

BA said it will continue serving its Heathrow to Riyadh and Jeddah routes, while it is operating a reduced schedule to Larnaca in Cyprus.

The airline also said its repatriation flights from Muscat, Oman will cease this week for the time being.

BA said: “Due to the continuing uncertainty of the situation in the Middle East and airspace instability, we’ve had to temporarily reduce our flying schedule in the region.

“We’ve cancelled all flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv until later this month and to and from Abu Dhabi until later this year. We’re keeping the situation under constant review and are in touch with our customers to offer them a range of options.

“We have limited seats remaining on our repatriation flights from Oman (Muscat) to Heathrow on 11 and 12 March for customers with existing bookings. Following these dates, the flights will pause due to reduced demand but will be kept under continuous review.”

Customers who are booked to travel between Heathrow and Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai or Tel Aviv before 15 April can move their flight on the same route for free. Customers due to travel between Heathrow and Larnaca can change their flights to a new date on the same route.

Passengers travelling to the affected destinations also have the option to change their booking to a different route with no fees for changing but may need to pay any difference in the fare.

BA customers have been told to check their flight status on BA.com before travelling to the airport.
