Azamara Cruises has said it has made a ‘substantial expansion’ of its UK operations, including moving into a new centralised office and basing several global roles there, as it strives to build on its relationship with the travel trade.
As part of its investment, the cruise line has relocated its UK headquarters to Woking from nearby Weybridge with a view to hosting trade partners and global meetings. Its call-centre team will also be based at this new office and will be working alongside the wider team, including the global roles, which the cruise line believes will lead to ‘stronger collaboration’.
Global roles that have previously been based overseas and will now be at the Woking HQ include Director of Port Operations Julian Poston and Corporate Director of Food and Beverage Operations Wayne Fannon. A new dedicated International Groups Lead position will also be based in the UK.
To support the cruise line’s marketing efforts, Azamara has also appointed Rowan Sharma as International Junior Graphic Designer, reporting to International Marketing Manager Natalie Holder.
Chief International Sales Officer David Siewers said: “The UK market is absolutely fundamental to our global success.
“This is a market we’re continuously investing in, and our commitment has never been stronger. This underscores the pivotal role the UK hub plays in our worldwide strategy.
“In recent months, we’ve announced three educational Seminars at Sea and an exclusive Masterclass at Sea, established our Partner Advisory Panel, and strengthened our engagement with the UK trade community at every level. Today’s announcement is further demonstration of our determination to become more deeply embedded within the UK travel trade.”
