American Airlines flights have resumed following an earlier technical fault that grounded all of its departures.
The airline said the stoppage, on one of the busiest days of the year, was caused by a ‘vendor technology issue’.
Flights were grounded for about an hour, from around 8am on Christmas Eve.
Currently, flightradar24 is showing an average delay of around 90 minutes for American Airlines departures.
In a statement, the airline said: “We sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this morning.
“It’s all hands on deck as our team is working diligently to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible.”
