Ambassador’s Ambition hit by ongoing weather disruption

Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambition has been forced to drop multiple ports of call during a 17-night Norway cruise due to stormy weather.

The ship, which is on ‘Norway’s Land of the Northern Lights’ sailing that departed Bristol on 16 October, has cancelled its call at Ålesund on Wednesday (28 October) as strong winds, with gusts of up to 28 knots, are forecast.

Instead, the ship will stay overnight in Molde before sailing directly to Bergen, arriving on Thursday (29 October) evening.

A further call at Stavanger has also been cancelled, with Ambition now sailing directly from Bergen to Bristol on Friday (30 October), where it is due to arrive on Monday (2 November).

Ambassador had already revised five earlier ports of call during the cruise because of Storms Austen and Boelo.

In a statement on Facebook, Ambassador said: “We sincerely apologise for these further changes and understand they will be disappointing. The safety, wellbeing and comfort of our guests and crew will always remain our highest priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt our plans to avoid the worst of the weather.”
