Ambassador has been forced to cancel Ambition’s call at Bodo in Norway during its Land of the Northern Lights cruise due to stormy weather.
The ship, which left London Tilbury on 23 February, is on the final leg of the two-week cruise.
A spokesperson for the cruise line said ‘severe’ weather is currently impacting the Norwegian coast, forcing Ambition to cancel its call at Bodo as ‘a precautionary measure’.
It said conditions are worse than forecast and the situation has progressively deteriorated.
“The safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew is and remains of paramount importance, and having reviewed all available ports of call, we have taken the decision in collaboration with the Captain to sail further out to sea and away from the worst of the storm,” it added.
“We would like to apologise for any disappointment or discomfort experienced by our guests on board, and we are keeping them fully informed of the situation.
“We will continue to update them on any progress and/or port changes ahead of Ambition’s scheduled return to London Tilbury on Sunday 9 March, which we anticipate will arrive at the scheduled time of 8am.”
