Riyadh Air has assured the trade it is ‘fully committed’ to its new Manchester route, after pushing the launch date back by two months.
The airline recently put the three-times-a-week service on sale for an initial start date of 23 July but there are now no flights scheduled on the Manchester route until 16 September.
Riyadh Air didn’t respond to Travel Gossip’s request for confirmation of the new start date but issued a statement saying: “Riyadh Air remains fully committed to Manchester and they’ve slightly revised the launch schedule.
“This is to ensure wider connectivity across the growing network with new routes being added that will link to the Manchester service.
“All guests who held bookings prior to this adjustment have been proactively contacted and notified.”
SPD Travels posted on X to say: “It appears Riyadh Air will now start their Manchester route from 16 September instead of 23 July if website is accurate.”
Flights will operate on Thursdays, Saturdays and Tuesdays on the airline’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Services will depart from Manchester at 08:40 and arrive in Riyadh at 17:20. The return flight will leave Riyadh at 01.30 and land in Manchester at 06.40.
