Aer Lingus to launch flights between Inverness and Dublin

Aer Lingus Regional is to launch its first route from Inverness Airport this summer, to Dublin.

The twice-weekly service will be operated by Emerald Airlines, from 21 May.

Flights will operate on Thursdays on Sundays, departing Dublin at 13:20 and departing Inverness at 15:30.

Flights have been timed to offer onward connectivity via Dublin to Aer Lingus transatlantic services to New York JFK and Boston.

The route was previously operated by Loganair, but the service ended in 2024.

Inverness Airport Manager Dan Mason said: “It is exciting to see the return of direct flights between Inverness and Dublin, restoring a route that has been missed by passengers across the Highlands and Islands.

“This service not only reconnects the region with Ireland’s capital but it also provides onward access to North America via Aer Lingus transatlantic flights, including New York and Boston, with convenient connection times through Dublin.

“Welcoming Aer Lingus to Inverness for the first time is a positive step for regional connectivity and passenger choice, and we are thrilled to work with the airline as the route launches and develops.”

Emerald Airlines Head of Commercial Ian Lough said: “We are delighted to be commencing this new connection to Dublin and have no doubt it will be a popular one.”
