Air India and Ryanair have suspended several UK routes this winter, with Birmingham, London Gatwick and Belfast among the airports affected.
Air India has suspended its Birmingham to Delhi and Gatwick to Amritsar services from this month, along with its Copenhagen-Delhi and Vienna-Delhi flights.
The two routes, which both operated three times weekly, ended on 25 October. Air India has not confirmed they will resume next summer.
Meanwhile, Ryanair has removed seven UK routes from its winter 2026 schedule, citing higher fuel costs.
The routes removed include Belfast International-Beauvais, Birmingham-Paphos, East Midlands-Berlin and Prague, Liverpool-Warsaw Modlin, London Luton-Treviso, London Stansted-Bodrum, Dalaman and Salerno, and Manchester-Warsaw Chopin.
A spokesperson said the airline has recently revised its traffic target for the financial year 2027, ‘in light of higher unhedged oil prices during the loss-making winter period’.
They added: “As a result, Ryanair’s FY27 traffic target has been reduced from 216 million to 214 million passengers. Consequently, a number of routes and frequencies have been adjusted for the winter season.”
The airline has not confirmed whether the affected routes will return for summer 2027.
A spokesperson said: “We are currently rolling out our winter schedule. Our summer schedule has not yet been finalised and is typically announced from January onwards.”
