Two agents who met on a Riviera Travel fam trip to Sri Lanka last year have got engaged.
Dan Hammond, a Travel Consultant at GoCruise & Travel and Mary Barnes, Assistant Manager at TUI in Chippenham, first met at London Heathrow ahead of the trip in May 2025.
During the group trip of 30 agents, the pair got to know each other as they toured Sri Lanka and stayed in touch when they returned home.
Dan said: “It all started with a message after we connected on the Sri Lanka fam trip. What began as a friendly conversation quickly turned into something more as we spent time exploring such an incredible destination together.
“After returning to the UK, we stayed in touch and realised there was something more special there. We met up in London not long after, bonding over our shared love of musical theatre – and the rest is history.”
The couple is currently sailing on Holland America Line’s Nieuw Statendam, in the Caribbean, where Dan popped the question on Sunday.
He added: “We’ll always be grateful for Riviera for bringing us together on what turned out to be a life-changing journey.”
