‘Agent friendly’ walking tours specialist aims for global expansion

Vox City Walks has announced plans to operate in 60 cities globally by the end of this year as it launches a new walk in London today.

Walks in Oxford and Liverpool will follow shortly, it says.

The guided and self-guided walks, already available in Rome, Venice, Florence and Toronto as well as London can be booked by travel agents, with a tiered commission structure.

Today’s launch of a new London walk has been timed to coincide with a Let’s Do London campaign by Visit London to help attract domestic tourists to the city this summer.

VCW says its walks, which use specially created app-based technology, are the first of their kind globally. They operate along the same lines as ‘hop on, hop off’ bus tours, so clients can leave and rejoin a tour at any point, using the audio and navigation functions in the company’s app to guide themselves in between.

It offers three different guided walks in London: London Landmarks, West End & Royalty and London By Night. There are also seven self-guided tours included in the price (that work offline): Parks & Palaces, Tower & Thames, Jack The Ripper, The Notting Hill Walk, The Bloomsbury Walk, The Kensington Walk, The City Walk.

Pricing is based on either 24/48/72 hours’ access = £25/£29/£32 per adult and £9/£10/£11 per child.  Available in six languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish, German & Chinese.

VCW says its walks adhere to Covid-19 safety measures by operating in small socially
distanced groups and customers use their own mobile phones and headphones as their audio and guiding device.
