The Good Travel Agent has launched a price comparison website, which customers can use to search and book travel.
Each of its agent franchisees has their own link to the site to send to customers, and they receive commission from bookings made.
The site can search and compare prices for package holidays, cruises, flights, accommodation, car hire and airport transfers.
Currently, price comparisons for package holidays are available with just six operators – including Jet2holidays and TUI – but The Good Travel Agent CEO Jake Cullum-Hollins said it is ‘working closely’ with other suppliers to integrate their product into the site.
The Good Travel Agent promises prices on the site are the same as booking direct, and if customers can’t find what they are looking for, they are urged to contact their agent, whose contact details are included on the site.
Business Development Manager Kathryn Freeman said the price comparison site is intended ‘for customers who wish to search online for simple package holidays, eliminating the need to search supplier websites individually’.
She added: “If they’d like further information or would like to book something not available through those suppliers, the section underneath the comparison part of the page introduces the agent and encourages the customer to get in touch should they not be able to find what they are looking for and also details how many suppliers they have access to should they be in doubt.”
She said the site is ‘available to customers who wish to book online while still receiving the benefits of having a travel agent on hand throughout their booking process’.
The price comparison site is separate from the bookable website launched for franchisees a year ago.
The Good Travel Agent has 29 agents currently and plans to recruit a further 40 this year.
