Abu Dhabi theme park Yas Waterworld was evacuated on Friday following a fire that broke out in an under-construction area of the site.
Emergency services said the blaze, which broke out at about 2pm, was quickly brought under control and there are no reports of any injuries.
Visitors and staff had all been quickly evacuated and the area was sealed off.
In a statement posted on X, Abu Dhabi Police said the fire was at a construction site adjacent to Yas Waterworld on Yas Island. It added: “The fire did not result in any injuries and has been successfully extinguished.”
It is understood the park’s existing attractions were unaffected and they have since reopened to the public.
Miral, the theme park’s developer, announced last December plans for 18 new rides and attractions.
