ABTA LifeLine helped people in the travel industry write off nearly £80,000 in debt and claim benefits of £23,000 last year.
The help was provided in partnership with Citizens Advice Manchester (CAM), which says it is seeing a continuing trend of travel professionals struggling due to the cost of living, with high energy costs and housing related debt.
The two associations provided helped to write off £78,000 as well as help people get extra benefits that they were entitled to.
ABTA LifeLine is using this week, Debt Awareness Week, to remind people in the industry who are struggling financially to get in touch.
CAM provides a dedicated case worker giving advice over the phone and there is no need to attend in person.
ABTA LifeLine Director Trudie Clements said: “We know there are more people in our community struggling with their finances. If you are, or you know someone who is struggling with debt, then please tell them about the support LifeLine can provide.
“No one should be embarrassed at coming forward. Everything is treated in the strictest confidence.
“In addition, we might also be able to provide further support, such as help with energy bills, food and replacing essential household items, this really can make a difference to your life.”
