ABTA LifeLine appoints three new trustees

ABTA LifeLine has appointed three new trustees to its board after the association made an appeal to the industry last year for people to put themselves forward for the roles.

They are TUI Finance Director Jody Rolfe, World Travel Holdings UK Managing Director Lisa McAuley and Zoe Powell, Director of accountancy firm Xeinadin.

The LifeLine charity provides practical, financial and emotional support for past and present employees of ABTA members. Director Trudie Clements welcomed the ‘three distinguished travel professionals’ to the board and said: “The three new appointments bring the number of trustees to 10. Claire Stirrup stepped down last year due to her new appointment with Celebrity and we then took our time to recruit. Initially we were looking for two trustees, but we received so many high calibre applications that in the end we decided on three.

“Their expertise, strong reputations, and respected voices within the industry will be tremendous assets to LifeLine.

The new board members all spoke of the support the charity gives to the industry. “I care deeply about the difference this practical support can make,” said Jody . “And I’m proud to be able to contribute my financial experience to help ensure ABTA LifeLine can continue to develop and expand its impact.”

Lisa said she had ‘seen first-hand the vital support the charity provides’. “It’s a small charity with a hugely positive impact. It’s an honour to give back to the community that has shaped my professional life.”

Zoe said: “It’s a privilege to support a charity that steps in when people in our industry need it most, and I’m excited to play my part in strengthening the fundraising and disbursements that make that support possible.”
