TUI’s Krystal Simon was one of 50 top selling agents and their partners treated by Visit Jamaica to a VIP trip to collect their awards on the island, flying Virgin Atlantic Premium Class from London and staying at the new Princess Grand Jamaica & Princess Senses.
During the One Love trip, they attended an awards night, where Krystal was handed her accolade by the Tourism Minister himself, Edmund Bartlett.
“The awards night was simply spectacular, it felt like the night was totally devoted to celebrating us as award winners,” said Kyrstal.
“The food and live entertainment were outstanding, and it was nice to be acknowledged by special guest speakers.”
During their free time, the agents were invited to choose from a host of complimentary excursions, including a sunset cruise and zip lining.
“I chose a catamaran cruise with Island Rootes and visited Booby Cay for some local authentic food and enjoyed the island vibes for the afternoon – even learning some local dance moves!” said Krystal.
The trip coincided with the official opening of the Princess hotel, which was performed by Prime Minister Andrew Holness. “I even got the opportunity to shake hands and meet him as well as the Minister of Tourism,” said Krystal. “They both knew why us agents were in Jamaica and thanked us for our support to Jamaica’s tourism- this was a wow moment in itself!
“The resort is simply stunning, we were welcomed as though we were coming home,” added Krystal, who was particularly wowed by the over-water villas.
The hotel opening ceremony was followed by an after party on its private island, finishing with a firework display. The following evening, the agents were invited to a ‘white night’ hosted by Couples Negril with a buffet banquet and entertainment on the beach.
“I felt truly honoured to be part of this moment and was made to feel so appreciated for my contribution to Jamaica’s tourism,” said Krystal. “Princess Hotels even gifted us Top 50 agents a free three-night stay with them to return!
“I have been in travel for 23 years, and never have I ever felt so valued, celebrated and special as I did during the One Love Affair, there were so many pinch me moments over the event.
“It’s made me fall in love with Jamaica all over again and I can’t wait for more of my customers to experience the One Love welcome that I have received during my stay in Jamaica.”
