Jet2 celebrates one year of operations at Bournemouth

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have celebrated one year of operations at Bournemouth Airport.

To mark the occasion, the airline and package holiday operator surprised a customer with a pair of return flights while they were checking in.

For summer 2026, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has expanded its programme with two new routes – Kos and Reykjavik – meaning its capacity will increase by 5% compared to last summer.

CEO Steve Heapy said the company’s first year at Bournemouth has been ‘nothing short of phenomenal’.

He added: “Our award-winning customer service has had an enormous impact on customers and the response has enabled us to put more seats and destinations on sale giving local holidaymakers even more choice.

“It was fantastic to be able to celebrate our first anniversary with our brilliant colleagues and customers and we are looking ahead with enormous confidence at Bournemouth airport.”

Bournemouth Airport Managing Director Steve Gill said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ arrival at Bournemouth airport has been transformational.

“Their first summer of operations contributed significantly to our best ever summer last year and with capacity increasing and new routes launching, 2026 is shaping up to be another great year for the airport.

“We are proud of the partnership we have built with Jet2 and look forward to continuing this success together, meeting demand from passengers across the region for award-winning flights and holidays.”
