AmaWaterways’ newest river ship, AmaSofia, was christened on the Rhine last week by godmother Sarah Little, Senior Vice-President of Business Development for the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA).
More than 1,200 advisors attending the ASTA River Cruise Expo in Amsterdam were invited to take part in the celebration, which concluded with a 300-drone light show over the Rhine.
AmaSofia accommodates up to 154 guests in 76 staterooms, with suites ranging up to 350 square feet, and began the 2026 season early on the Rhine, allowing AmaWaterways to celebrate the milestone alongside its ASTA partners. In April and May, the ship will sail on Rhine itineraries before being repositioned to the Danube in June.
