Quark Expeditions hosted its first UK Agent ‘This Is Polar Retreat’, bringing together more than 50 travel partners for a night in Ullswater in the Lake District.
Designed to bring the polar regions to agents, the retreat opened with a series of immersive morning sessions, including real‑life expedition stories from a member of Quark Expeditions’ Expedition Team.
This was followed by an agent panel, where partners who have previously travelled with Quark shared their own first‑hand experiences and insights.
In the afternoon, agents took part in outdoor activities designed to mirror the brand’s adventure options onboard including hiking, canoeing, kayaking and a scenic trip on Ullswater.
The day concluded with a Tundra to Table – inspired three‑course dinner, created by Quark Expeditions’ Inuit chefs, and live music from a shanty band.
During the retreat, Lynsey Ridwell of Travel Counsellors won a trip for two to the Arctic in May 2026.
Quark Expeditions Senior Director Becky Francis (far left in main picture) said: “We know we can’t take every agent to the polar regions, so experiences like this allow us to bring the essence of expedition travel to them. As a people‑centric business, strong relationships with our partners are fundamental to our success, and this retreat was a fantastic way to strengthen those connections.”
James Pettitt from Curated Escapes, who attended the retreat, said: “It was very informative and rewarding it was great to meet in person and share your passion for all things Polar,” while Stacey McCourt from Travel Counsellors said she ‘loved the mix of information, insider knowledge, and personal stories.’
“Such a great way to learn about Quark Expeditions – and it was great fun on the lake too,” she added.
