TUI River Cruises has released details of the public areas onboard its second Nile ship, TUI Bahareya, which will launch in November.
The refurbished 74-cabin, 146-guest ship will operate seven-night cruises from Luxor, sailing two itineraries: ‘Ancient Gods and famous Pharaohs’ and ‘Legends of the Nile’. It will join TUI Al Horeya, which has been sailing on the Nile since winter 2024.
The Top Deck (pictured above, top right) will be a multi-functional space with a swimming pool, sunloungers and an Arabic inspired area, Sofra (pictured above, bottom right), where al fresco light lunch snacks and afternoon tea will be served. The Observatory (pictured above, top left) will host traditional entertainment, including Egyptian whirling dervishes and local Nubian acts; talks from Egyptologists; music, film shows and quizzes.
In the evening, Sofra will become a reservation-only dining area for 30 people, offering la carte locally inspired dishes served by waiters in traditional galabaya clothing.
The main restaurant, Belhana (pictured above), which means ‘Bon Appetit’ in Arabic, has capacity for 146 guests for waiter-service breakfast, lunch and dinner. It will also be the venue for the gala dinners, which will take place once each sailing.
TUI Bahareya will be the first TUI ship on the Nile to have a sauna in its Hetep wellness area (pictured above), as well as two massage rooms, including one room for couple massages.
Head of River Cruises Katy Berzins said: “The addition of a second ship on the Nile reflects the growing demand for Egypt as a cruise destination.”
Flights will operator from Gatwick and Manchester to Luxor.
