Oceania reveals Sonata’s first cruises

Oceania Cruises has released the first itineraries for its new ship, Oceania Sonata, with bookings opening on 28 January.

The first Sonata Class ship will join the Oceania fleet in August 2027, operating 22 cruises in its inaugural season, including one from Southampton.

The 1,390-passenger ship’s maiden voyage will be a 14-day sailing from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Trieste on 7 August 2027. Ports of call include Catania, Valletta, Katakolon, Bar, and Zadar.

It will then offer a mix of Mediterranean sailings until October 2027, including a 10-day cruise from Barcelona to Southampton on 30 August 2027, and a 10-day itinerary from Southampton to Lisbon on 15 September 2027.

Oceania Sonata will offer a transatlantic cruise to Miami in November, from where it will offer a series of Caribbean cruises.

A highlight itinerary is a 16-day cruise from Miami to Los Angeles with stops in Grand Cayman, Colombia, a daylight transit through the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and various Mexican ports.

Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague said: “As the first of four ships in the Sonata Class, her premiere sets the tone for the thoughtfully designed itineraries, exceptional comfort and meaningful, unrushed freedom to explore the world that underscore the continued evolution of Oceania Cruises.”
