HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) has finished its refurbishment of MS Spitsbergen.
The renovation is part of a wider €7million investment also involving MS Fram, aimed at improving comfort, accessibility, and operational efficiency across the fleet.
Its makeover includes a new bistro (called Brygga Bistro), a refreshed Science Centre, as well as upgrades to accessibility facilities, including the bathrooms.

The refreshed Science Centre has interactive screens, a flexible lecture space, a small library, dedicated workstations for citizen science and interpreter systems for multilingual talks.
Meanwhile, the Explorer Lounge & Bar has received a refreshed interior and updated seating.
The 220-guest vessel will resume service for the summer Arctic season, sailing in and around Svalbard before continuing east for winter.
From January through March, MS Spitsbergen will operate all-inclusive sailings above the Arctic Circle with the launch of HX’s new seven-day Ultimate Norway – Arctic Expedition under the Northern Lights expedition.
